Terms of use
The agreement between you and By CSK for using Kime. Written plainly, and nothing in it limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Last updated 23 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and By CSK (ABN 15 792 348 524), the business that makes Kime. They cover the Kime app for Windows and Mac, the website at kime.video, and Kime AI. By installing or using Kime you agree to them.
You need to be 18 or over, or 13 to 17 with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you. Our privacy policy explains what information Kime handles.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install Kime on computers you use, and to use it for personal or work projects, including videos you are paid to make.
You may not:
- sell, rent or redistribute Kime, or pass off a copy as your own;
- get around the limits of a Kime AI pass, or share a pass outside the person it was issued to;
- use Kime to break the law or anyone else's rights.
Kime includes open-source software, such as ffmpeg, under its own licences. Those licences come with the app, and nothing here limits your rights under them.
Your footage, and everything Kime makes from it (cuts, clips, stills, captions, post text), is yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to it, and we never receive it: Kime works on your computer.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you put through Kime. That includes footage of other people, music in your videos, and any video you fetch from a link. Kime recognises faces only to help you pick moments, on your computer; get the consent the law requires from people you film.
Some features use other services, and their rules apply alongside ours:
- Video links: fetch only videos you have the right to download, such as your own, or ones whose owner or site allows it. Many sites forbid downloading in their terms.
- Stock footage: clips from Pixabay or Pexels come under those sites' licences, using your own key with them.
- Posting: when you connect TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, a Facebook Page or LinkedIn, Kime posts only the clips you choose, when you press Post (on TikTok, as a draft you finish in the app). You're responsible for what you post and for following each platform's rules, and you can disconnect at any time. Platforms set their own limits, such as daily caps on posts from apps, and may change or withdraw what Kime relies on.
- YouTube: Kime posts to YouTube through YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
We don't control those services and aren't responsible for them, or for changes that stop a feature working with them. A post that fails or is changed by a platform (for example, kept private) can be posted again or fixed on the platform itself.
AI picks, titles, B-roll ideas and translations can be wrong, odd or miss the point. Check what Kime suggests before you publish it; you decide what goes out.
Your own AI key: your use of the AI provider is under your agreement with them, and they bill you directly.
A Kime AI pass:
- A pass is issued to one person and comes with a monthly allowance. When it runs out, Kime works on its own until the allowance resets on the 1st of the next month (UTC, which is late morning in eastern Australia).
- A pass has no cash value and can't be transferred.
- Don't use it to generate unlawful, harmful or abusive material, or to overload the service.
- We can pause or revoke a pass that is misused, shared or no longer part of the beta, and we can change allowances or end Kime AI. If we end it, Kime keeps working with your own key or without AI.
Kime is in beta. Expect rough edges, and features that change or go. Updates arrive when you check for them in Settings, or from kime.video; we may stop supporting old versions.
We may change, pause or stop any part of Kime or the website. Where a change takes away something you paid for, the section below on paying applies.
Kime and Kime AI passes are free during the beta. Before we charge for anything, we'll show the price, what it includes, how renewal and cancelling work, and how refunds work, before you pay. Payments will be handled by a payment provider, under its terms as well as ours.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under it, and you are entitled to a remedy if we fail to meet them.
Within those rights:
- Kime is provided as it is, and we don't promise it will be free of errors or suit every purpose.
- Keep your own backups. Kime is built never to change your original footage, but no software is perfect, and we can't be responsible for lost or damaged files.
- Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying for it to be supplied again. For anything else, it is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and A$100.
- We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or opportunities, except where the law says otherwise.
Ending. You can stop using Kime at any time by uninstalling it. We can end your access to Kime AI, or to future versions, if you break these terms.
Changes to these terms. We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. If a change matters, we'll say so on kime.video and in the app's release notes, and using Kime afterwards means you accept it.
The law. These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute. Talk to us first; most problems are easier to fix by email.
